ARTISTIC APPROACH:
In his pictorial work, Desag strives to reproduce the power relationships between the colors that are born and the forms that welcome them. Moreover, by collecting these alchemies, the painter's attitude is to produce varied responses on the canvas. Without forgetting to create aesthetic and colorful creations.
With this approach, Desag admits that our universe is crossed by invisible flows and currents. It is in a "mystical" aspect that these influxes have preponderant places in the artist's work. These currents form the bases of the structuring of his paintings. The painter classifies his painting into opus: the Earthly which emanates from the ground and the Aerial which arrives from the sky. These opuses do not have the same graphics. On the canvas, the conjugations and the sometimes chaotic line drawings, however, end in a general harmony.
As a material and medium, Desag uses acrylic, sometimes oil or pigments. He likes to work on canvas frames in square formats, ranging from 20x20 cm to 120x120 cm. He prepares the surface of the canvases according to his needs. Some works are done on wooden panels. He also likes to paint on paper.
In front of an exhibited canvas, the visitor's gaze is invited to follow paths rich in allure and color. He will be able to observe from one point to another of the canvas, transitions that are suggested to him. Then, an aesthetic and colorful journey will be offered to him, in order to discover overall a work attractive to the eyes and the mind. Louis Aast
BIO: I was born on Sunday, August 4, 1957, in Neuilly sur Seine, a commune of Paris. My encounter with painting happened when I was 7 years old. It was following a visit to the Louvre Museum in Paris. I admired the works exhibited. Very moved, it was there that I decided to become a painter. Resolutely!
My mother bought me lots of art magazines that represented painted canvases. From then on, I painted with primary gouaches, to reproduce the impressionists. Every day, I drew and painted on paper. Later I could not enroll at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. Indeed, my parents did not have the means to pay for my studies. So I was going to manage otherwise...
At 22, I had my first gallery exhibition, as the only artist. It was at the Aigle Normandie.
Afterwards, I continued to discover "again and again" painting and its techniques. In my life as a painter, I no longer count the places where I have exhibited. Ultimately, I believe that what is important is the present.
After all these years of painting, I still have the inspiration and the desire to create. I hope it will last for a long time.
